Women also have Rights

Women rights are giving the women the right or the freedom to make their own choices and to live without suffering discrimination or violence. Women have been going through this for a long time because of opinions that make women look like the weaker and dumber gender.

One of the more recent moments in which women rights have been shook in Texas where they have make anti-abortion laws where “which bans abortions after about six weeks, once embryonic cardiac activity is detected, and does not make exceptions for incest or rape.” The author Lizzy Davies writes this to show the audience which is the people that live in Texas or just people that are activists. This is an informative article because it’s informing those people around what is going on and how it’s affecting women. The audience and genre relate to each other because it shows that it is giving the people the facts and it’s not an opinionated article that is giving people false information. The tone of this article would have to be assertive because Lizzy Davis gives the facts straight forward and doesn’t take a long time to give them straight to the reader. The purpose of this article is to show and teach people of what women are going through even nowadays not only in the U.S. but everywhere. Because you would think that women would have the right to abort if its rape of incest but thats not the case in Texas. For example when Lizzy Davies says “Attacks on abortion rights usually happen in countries where other human rights are under threat, according to analysts.”The purpose also relates to the tone of the article because without that assertive tone of the article the purpose would seem that serious and important to the audience.

Another article that talks about people talking about women’s rights is an article by Hannah Sparks from the New York Post. This article is sort of an opinionated/Informative article. It’s an opinionated article because in this article Cyndi Lauper gives her opinion on what she believes women want “Yeah, girls wanna have fun. But we also want to have funds. Equal pay. Control over our bodies! You know, fundamental rights.” I agree with what she says but not all women believe in women rights or not everyone in general. But it will also be informative because the author talks about what is currently going on in Texas with the anti-abortion law being passed. The audience of this article would have to be people that are fans of Cyndi Lauper and people that are activists. The audience and the genre of the article relate to each other because since this is an opinionated coming from a famous person the audience which can be her fans are spreading this message that she gave them and they are spreading it around in a positive way to other people and they are learning more about this topic which is women rights. The purpose of this article is to show that even people that might not seem like they care about situations in which they might not suffer still care about those topics. The tone of the article would have to also be assertive because The author and Cyndi Lauper both state their facts and opinion straightforwardly and talk about what they believe in. I feel like this article relates to the article that I used above because in this one it talks about Cyndi Lauper talking about women rights and how we should have control of our own bodies. While in ghe first article it talks about Texas having anti-abortion laws and Cyndi saying this was at a right time because both of these happened recently and by saying this it shows us and tells us that its important to pay attention to whats going on around us and how its affecting not only the people around us but also us.

Another picture that is posted all around social media is the picture with the woman and the bandana flexing her muscles with the words “We can do it!” This picture is really famous and can be seen a lot especially on social media. The meaning behind this picture is that the author J. Howard Miller wanted women to feel confident and enthusiastic about their work. Especially during a time in which women didn’t really work because of women having the role of staying home. While back then it was used for the working force, nowadays it’s used as a sign of power or showing that women are strong and that we can do it and get through hard situations and experiences. Another place in which you can see this picture is in protest where for example the Women march. The audience of the picture I feel like it would have to be the women because they are the ones being targeted and using this poster as a representation. The purpose of this poster is to give women the strength and give them enthusiasm in what they are doing not only back then but also now. The purpose and the audience both relate to each other because the purpose of this is to get the targeted audience to feel good about themselves. The tone of this would have to be inspiring because it’s giving women the voice and the mentality of what they think and should have back then and now. The genre would have to be History Painting because this was a historical painting for women that gave a message to them about empowerment and inspirations.

In this article written by Politico Magazine it talks about the struggles that women still go through till this day. Like it’s said by the article “One of the struggles that underlies all of our policy battles is the continued lack of women in positions of power.” This shows how by having a lack of representation in power it shows us and everyone else that we don’t really have a right in the political saying and it’s mostly just men deciding for everyone else even if they just have one perspective which is the male perspective. The genre for this article would be a descriptive article because it describes what other struggles women are going through but it’s also going in depth of those struggles. The audience of this article would be women and I would say the government because most of the struggles that are said here that women are still struggling about is the lack of representation in the government and issues that can be solved by the government. They both connect because without the audience which is the women they really wouldn’t be able to know what the struggle is so the women and who would read it. The tone of this would be authoritative because they give actual and believable examples of the struggles. LIke when the struggle was “Not enough women at table” they gave the evidence of “But we still have a long way to go; the U.S. ranks 75th out of 193 countries in terms of women’s representation in government.” This shows how the tone affects what the author is writing and how they are writing it because if the tone was persuasive we would know that the evidence wouldn’t be accurate and it would be more opinionated rather than facts.

Women’s rights violations have been around for a long time and it has affected us in many ways. But by people speaking up and showing empowerment either by paintings or speeches it has empowered women to speak up against those people that think otherwise. Also by putting up laws that only some believe affect not only women but also those people around them. Women rights have been seen in a lot of different ways throughout the year like the painting before it was for the women in the working environment and now its for every woman in the world that needs empowerment.
